Emcee / MC

An emcee (or MC, or master of ceremonies) plays a vital role in the success of a multi-stage corporate event, creating a positive opening, connecting the day's various segments, summarizing, welcoming, guiding the audience, managing the time, moderating discussions, adding comments and summaries, and delivering a satisfying close and overall, ensuring that things go well. It's not just a person at the mic saying, "our next guest is..." It's a role that delivers a vital sense of continuity and brand, along with a positive, professional tone, clear momentum while acting as a key focal point of the day. Emceeing requires organizational skills, expert timing, a pleasant rapport with the audience, and a solid understanding of the event's content in order to field questions, make intelligent comments, even deliver a speech off-the-cuff if a scheduled guest is running late or is unavailable. Emceeing also requires knowledge of up-to-date audience interaction technologies to allow people to comment or ask questions without fumbling for a hand-held mic. Like an orchestra conductor, a good emcee keeps the show rolling on time and in an engaging and comfortable manner, giving your attendees a pleasant experience and making you look good. I can do all that, and I would be honoured to emcee your next corporate function.
That's me at the podium, facilitating a multi-person chat at Orion THINK 2024, October 16, 2024.
